Michelle Walter is currently 17 and a
Senior at Groton High School in Groton, South Dakota. she is involved in many school
activities, but none of them include science or astronomy because hey, this is South
Dakota! some of her past-times are watching tv and movies, sleeping, shopping, hanging
with friends, writing autobiographies, procrastinating, clipping her toenail, and, of
course, stargazing. As for her future plans, Michelle says, "Would you stop asking me
that?" She will probably begin in college in physics and astronomy but possibly
switch to something else. As for astronomy camp, Michelle had a great time. Her favorite "non-educational" moments were making Maria laugh uncontrollably and trying to explain what girls want outside the 61". And she loved using the telescopes and seeing the sunrise. Michelle hopes to keep in touch with all her new friends from camp (maybe even lemurs), and hopes to see lots of them next year! |
Miz Betsy Schroeder wishes to say: "I have lots of energy, that never runs out. I love astronomy and math. My favorite pat of astronomy camp was looking at Jupiter and Saturn, the double stars, and learning the constellations. I hope to see you all next year!" |
Quoted from Derek Bailey, himself: "I'm 14 years old and I'm from Moreland Georgia. I have a 6" telescope and have been cussed out in 10 different languages. I like to bowl because I am cool. I am tired and can think of nothing else to wriet except fo the fact that I have nothing else to write." |
Hi, I'm Lisa and I'm the webmaster. Astronomy Camp was an especially magical experience for me because I simply cannot imagine myself doing anything else for a whole week, straight. I'll never forget what it felt like being on top of Mt. Lemmon, gazing at a gazillion stars at night. Hopefully, I'll get to relive paradise again this next summer. |
